Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.00% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.3630 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 3.22% or 0.0680 points to end at 2.1830 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 1.45% or 0.0730 points to 5.1150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 1.58% or 0.170 points to trade at 10.590 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.33% or 0.0560 points to end at 4.1640 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.90% or 0.0250 points to 2.7500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.03 to $55.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.48% or 18.55 to trade at $1272.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0610, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.8501.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.62.
