Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Telecoms and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.36% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Nordic Nanovector ASA (OL:NANOV), which rose 9.84% or 7.30 points to trade at 81.50 at the close. SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) added 3.74% or 7.50 points to end at 208.20 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 2.49% or 4.0 points to 164.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 2.36% or 1.35 points to trade at 55.80 in late trade. REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) declined 1.39% or 0.01 points to end at 0.99 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) gained 0.38% or 0.25 points to 66.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 73 and 29 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.63% or 0.78 to $48.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.39% or 0.70 to hit $50.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.56 to trade at $1248.54 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.24% to 9.2636, while USD/NOK fell 0.14% to 7.9613.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 94.00.
