Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 25 were Frutarom (TA:FRUT), which rose 4.18% or 740 points to trade at 18460 at the close. Meanwhile, Poalim (TA:POLI) added 2.32% or 46 points to end at 2030 and Mizrahi Tefahot (TA:MZTF) was up 1.41% or 64 points to 4617 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melisron (TA:MLSR), which fell 2.75% or 350 points to trade at 12370 at the close. Paz Oil (TA:PZOL) declined 2.57% or 1590 points to end at 60260 and Avner L (TA:AVNRp) was down 2.01% or 4.9 points to 239.1.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 194 to 129 and 128 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.68% or 0.63 to $38.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.58% or 0.64 to hit $40.90 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.52% or 5.60 to trade at $1069.70 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.05% to 3.8670, while EUR/ILS rose 0.73% to 4.2412.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 97.77.
