Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.15%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP), which rose 4.43% or 3.22 points to trade at 75.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 2.73% or 0.94 points to end at 35.40 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) was up 1.78% or 0.28 points to 15.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PA:TECF), which fell 3.82% or 1.61 points to trade at 40.58 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.50% or 0.08 points to end at 3.23 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was down 2.41% or 0.230 points to 9.320.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which rose 12.35% to 20.10, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 11.08% to settle at 22.310 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 10.66% to close at 8.242.
The worst performers were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 6.91% to 9.275 in late trade, CGG (PA:GEPH) which lost 4.00% to settle at 0.48 and Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 3.82% to 40.58 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 435 to 235 and 104 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.34% to 29.80.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.85% or 10.30 to $1221.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.04% or 0.32 to hit $30.98 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.19 to trade at $34.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1095, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7743.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 96.96.
