Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 2.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 6.50% or 0.2140 points to trade at 3.5060 at the close. Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 5.33% or 0.49 points to end at 9.78 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 4.58% or 1.28 points to 29.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which lost 0.07% or 0.02 points to trade at 28.99 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 0.37% or 0.06 points to end at 16.31 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) gained 0.79% or 0.33 points to 42.08.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 143 to 27 and 21 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.70% or 0.28 to $40.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.39% or 0.15 to hit $38.43 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.60 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.7875.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.89.
