Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 1.70% or 2.15 points to trade at 128.65 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 1.35% or 1.45 points to end at 108.50 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was up 0.98% or 0.85 points to 87.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 1.48% or 0.83 points to trade at 55.17 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.44% or 1.220 points to end at 83.560 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.87% or 0.12 points to 14.28.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 50 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.11% or 14.66 to $1310.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.83% or 0.42 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.45 to trade at $55.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1925, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.92.
