Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 2.44% or 0.30 points to trade at 12.57 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 2.44% or 2.43 points to end at 101.95 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.85% or 0.64 points to 75.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 7.58% or 2.33 points to trade at 28.42 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 5.98% or 0.70 points to end at 11.00 and Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) shed 2.30% or 1.02 points to 43.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 52 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.39% or 17.10 to $1209.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.05% or 0.64 to hit $60.03 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.62 to trade at $70.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8723.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 96.81.
