Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.44% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.98% or 1.32 points to trade at 68.14 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.88% or 0.280 points to end at 15.150 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.72% or 0.79 points to 46.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 2.04% or 0.97 points to trade at 46.65 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.58% or 0.47 points to end at 29.59 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.00% or 0.29 points to 29.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 51 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.39% or 5.15 to $1330.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.36 to trade at $54.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1961, while EUR/GBP fell 0.77% to 0.9011.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 91.91.
