Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.81% or 1.970 points to trade at 72.000 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.05% or 0.315 points to end at 15.650 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.99% or 1.430 points to 73.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 0.85% or 0.24 points to trade at 28.70 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.67% or 0.10 points to end at 14.81 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 0.35% or 0.20 points to 57.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.70 to $1249.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.22% or 0.69 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 1.07 to trade at $63.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1761, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.92.
