Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 0.53% or 0.23 points to trade at 43.85 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.51% or 0.440 points to end at 86.520 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.49% or 0.080 points to 16.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 1.83% or 2.80 points to trade at 150.20 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 1.24% or 0.55 points to end at 43.71 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 1.23% or 0.75 points to 60.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 47 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 3.40 to $1322.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.56% or 0.99 to hit $64.56 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.63 to trade at $69.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.2035, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 91.64.
