Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.61% or 0.08 points to trade at 13.16 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.44% or 0.09 points to end at 20.69 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.10% or 0.05 points to 48.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 4.67% or 0.65 points to trade at 13.27 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 2.25% or 1.80 points to end at 78.10 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 2.24% or 0.272 points to 11.852.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 32 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.38% or 16.80 to $1202.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.50% or 1.69 to hit $65.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.18% or 1.59 to trade at $71.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.25.
