Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.94% or 0.46 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB) added 1.30% or 2.00 points to end at 155.80 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 1.29% or 0.17 points to 13.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.36% or 1.220 points to trade at 88.720 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 1.34% or 1.00 points to end at 73.90 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.15% or 0.136 points to 11.694.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 54 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1185.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.44% or 0.29 to hit $65.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.29 to trade at $71.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1416, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 96.13.
