Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.53% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 0.59% or 0.48 points to trade at 81.99 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.56% or 0.60 points to end at 106.80 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.50% or 0.23 points to 45.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 1.00% or 0.14 points to trade at 13.81 in late trade. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) declined 0.98% or 1.50 points to end at 151.60 and Sofina (BR:SOF) shed 0.95% or 1.40 points to 145.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 55 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.48% or 6.30 to $1297.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.90% or 1.29 to hit $66.59 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.99 to trade at $75.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1629, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8737.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.35.
