Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.95% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 0.54% or 0.70 points to trade at 130.00 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 0.04% or 0.05 points to end at 121.05 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 0.07% or 0.010 points to 15.275 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 3.25% or 2.260 points to trade at 67.380 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.06% or 1.29 points to end at 61.41 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 1.33% or 1.45 points to 107.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 50 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 12.10 to $1290.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.21% or 1.22 to hit $56.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.17 to trade at $62.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.63.
