Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 1.84% or 1.90 points to trade at 105.40 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.19% or 0.26 points to end at 22.04 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.71% or 0.350 points to 49.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 5.39% or 1.12 points to trade at 19.64 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.99% or 0.286 points to end at 14.066 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.76% or 0.45 points to 25.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.41% or 5.40 to $1317.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.17 to trade at $66.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.2338, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 89.43.
