Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.51% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 35.82 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) fell 0.89% or 1.00 points to end at 111.10 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 1.00% or 0.24 points to 23.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 3.90% or 1.77 points to trade at 43.60 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 3.77% or 2.30 points to end at 58.65 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 3.52% or 2.700 points to 73.920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 17 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.36% or 4.80 to $1331.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.42% or 0.27 to hit $63.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.45 to trade at $67.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.2383, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 89.49.
