Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.01% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 14.29% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.320 at the close. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) added 3.99% or 0.350 points to end at 9.130 and Parsan (IS:PARSN) was up 3.00% or 0.280 points to 9.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 19.87% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.210 in late trade. Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) declined 3.57% or 0.72 points to end at 19.44 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) shed 3.26% or 1.14 points to 33.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 195 to 133 and 80 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.75 to $1285.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.15% or 0.56 to hit $48.32 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.45% or 0.73 to trade at $49.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.42% to 2.9323, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 3.2871.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 94.99.
