Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Public Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 6.32% or 0.450 points to trade at 7.570 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 5.70% or 0.63 points to end at 11.69 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 4.07% or 0.50 points to 12.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which lost 2.39% or 0.83 points to trade at 33.92 in late trade. Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3) declined 1.91% or 0.57 points to end at 29.31 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 1.76% or 0.26 points to 14.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 167 to 140 and 19 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.47% to 31.60.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.94% or 12.75 to $1344.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.50 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.29% or 0.40 to trade at $139.00 .
USD/BRL was down 1.03% to 3.2061, while EUR/BRL fell 1.30% to 3.6304.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 94.48.
