Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Life Insurance, Travel & Leisure and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 2.06%, while the SZSE Component index lost 2.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Nanjing Textiles Import & Export Corp Ltd (SS:600250), which rose 10.06% or 0.660 points to trade at 7.220 at the close. ButOne Information Corp XiAn (SS:600455) added 10.01% or 2.430 points to end at 26.700 and Fujian Dongbai Group Co Ltd (SS:600693) was up 10.00% or 0.54 points to 5.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shangying Global Co Ltd (SS:600146), which lost 9.99% or 2.22 points to trade at 20.00 in late trade. Tonghua Dongbao Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SS:600867) declined 9.98% or 2.180 points to end at 19.660 and Hainan HNA Infrastructure Investment Group Co Ltd (SS:600515) shed 9.96% or 0.900 points to 8.140.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Guangdong Eastone Century Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300310) which rose 9.98% to 6.39, Shaanxi J&R Fire Protection Co Ltd (SZ:300116) which was up 6.13% to settle at 2.25 and Henan Shuanghui Investment & Development Co Ltd (SZ:000895) which gained 3.71% to close at 24.90.
The worst performers were Zhonghong Holding Co Ltd (SZ:000979) which was down 9.62% to 0.94 in late trade, Harbin Gloria Pharmaceuticals (SZ:002437) which lost 8.18% to settle at 4.60 and Asymchem Laboratories Tian Jin Co Ltd (SZ:002821) which was down 7.54% to 71.29 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1313 to 101 and 19 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.55% to 22.19.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.46% or 5.50 to $1195.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.64% or 0.43 to hit $66.61 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.34 to trade at $72.12 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.27% to 6.9027, while EUR/CNY rose 0.21% to 7.8254.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.62.
