Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Life Insurance, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 2.26%, while the SZSE Component index declined 2.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanghai Greencourt Investment Group Co Ltd A (SS:600695), which rose 10.10% or 0.29 points to trade at 3.16 at the close. Shenyang Commercial City Co Ltd (SS:600306) added 10.02% or 0.58 points to end at 6.37 and Wuhan Hanshang Group Co Ltd (SS:600774) was up 10.02% or 1.040 points to 11.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SS:600518), which lost 10.01% or 1.410 points to trade at 12.680 in late trade. Danhua Chemical Technology Co Ltd A (SS:600844) declined 10.00% or 0.380 points to end at 3.420 and Xilinmen Furniture Co Ltd (SS:603008) shed 10.00% or 1.230 points to 11.070.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shaanxi J&R Fire Protection Co Ltd (SZ:300116) which rose 10.07% to 1.64, Sealand Securities Co Ltd (SZ:000750) which was up 10.00% to settle at 3.52 and Beijing Originwater Technology (SZ:300070) which gained 6.30% to close at 8.61.
The worst performers were Jiangsu Sanyou Group Co Ltd (SZ:002044) which was down 10.01% to 13.21 in late trade, Wonders Information (SZ:300168) which lost 9.96% to settle at 11.48 and Jiangsu Yanghe Brewery Joint-Stock Co Ltd (SZ:002304) which was down 9.61% to 109.90 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1182 to 253 and 30 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 28.62.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.08% or 13.20 to $1234.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $69.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.55 to trade at $79.28 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.12% to 6.9390, while EUR/CNY fell 0.10% to 7.9573.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 95.68.
