Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments & Services, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 3.72%, while the SZSE Component index lost 4.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanghai Hongda Mining Co Ltd (SS:600532), which rose 10.11% or 0.440 points to trade at 4.790 at the close. Huafang Co Ltd (SS:600448) added 10.11% or 0.370 points to end at 4.030 and Shanghai Qiangsheng Holding Co Ltd (SS:600662) was up 9.95% or 0.410 points to 4.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beijing Huaye Capital Holdings Co Ltd (SS:600240), which lost 10.07% or 0.550 points to trade at 4.910 in late trade. Zhejiang Tiancheng Controls Co Ltd (SS:603085) declined 10.04% or 1.10 points to end at 9.86 and A-Zenith Home Furnishings Co Ltd (SS:603389) shed 10.04% or 1.060 points to 9.500.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Cofco Biochemical Anhui Co Ltd (SZ:000930) which rose 2.61% to 9.43, Sichuan Danfu Compressor Co Ltd (SZ:002366) which was up 2.59% to settle at 9.49 and China West Construction Group Co Ltd (SZ:002302) which gained 2.52% to close at 13.85.
The worst performers were Vtron Technologies Ltd (SZ:002308) which was down 10.03% to 5.740 in late trade, Searainbow Holding Corp (SZ:000503) which lost 10.01% to settle at 18.07 and Chongqing Zhifei Bio Products (SZ:300122) which was down 10.01% to 44.06 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1369 to 75 and 11 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.47 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.48% or 5.80 to $1199.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.87% or 0.65 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.91 to trade at $83.25 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.03% to 6.8711, while EUR/CNY rose 0.26% to 7.9349.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.47.
