Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Footwear & Textile and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.62% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) added 9.66% or 1.70 points to end at 19.30 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was up 9.09% or 1.50 points to 18.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 15.00% or 317.80 points to trade at 1801.00 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 14.12% or 328.70 points to end at 2000.00 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 14.00% or 364.10 points to 2236.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 147 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 2.93% or 0.99 to $32.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 2.29% or 0.79 to hit $33.45 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.10 to trade at $1096.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.36% to 210.180, while USD/LKR fell 0.21% to 143.645.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 98.91.
