Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.22%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.24%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP), which rose 2.96% or 3.45 points to trade at 120.00 at the close. Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) added 2.33% or 0.118 points to end at 5.177 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 1.43% or 1.13 points to 80.25 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which lost 1.28% or 0.52 points to trade at 40.24 in late trade. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 1.15% or 0.78 points to end at 67.22 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.05% or 2.20 points to 208.30.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which rose 3.30% to 35.415, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) which was up 2.96% to settle at 120.00 and Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) which gained 2.33% to close at 5.177.

The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 3.30% to 71.800 in late trade, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which lost 3.25% to settle at 27.800 and Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 3.07% to 3.027 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 335 to 253 and 99 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.77% to 11.47.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.15 to $1327.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $55.45 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1959, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.8813.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
