Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Telecoms and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.55%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.54%, and the TecDAX index added 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 2.51% or 4.65 points to trade at 189.60 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 2.07% or 0.86 points to end at 42.33 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 2.00% or 2.15 points to 109.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 2.45% or 0.550 points to trade at 21.870 in late trade. Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) declined 1.80% or 2.06 points to end at 112.14 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) shed 1.11% or 0.260 points to 23.220.
The top performers on the MDAX were Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which rose 2.56% to 11.03, Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was up 2.13% to settle at 40.83 and Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which gained 1.79% to close at 22.72.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 1.71% to 47.06 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which lost 1.68% to settle at 70.100 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 1.04% to 57.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 7.51% to 26.34, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 6.40% to settle at 16.492 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which gained 3.23% to close at 35.160.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.14% to 105.000 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 2.73% to settle at 45.660 and SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was down 1.54% to 25.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 472 to 232 and 72 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.15% to 16.18.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.90 to $1225.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.96% or 0.66 to hit $68.30 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.26 to trade at $73.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1588, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.88.
