Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Consumer & Cyclical and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.37%, while the MDAX index lost 0.49%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 0.39% or 0.075 points to trade at 19.220 at the close. E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) added 0.29% or 0.027 points to end at 9.483 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 0.28% or 0.070 points to 25.255 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING), which lost 1.36% or 2.25 points to trade at 162.60 in late trade. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.28% or 2.40 points to end at 185.30 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) shed 1.20% or 1.090 points to 89.540.
The top performers on the MDAX were Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which rose 2.09% to 11.74, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which was up 1.12% to settle at 37.430 and Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which gained 1.04% to close at 9.243.
The worst performers were STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which was down 3.81% to 80.030 in late trade, Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which lost 2.02% to settle at 102.05 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was down 1.53% to 85.520 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which rose 2.32% to 9.500, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 2.19% to settle at 16.590 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 1.22% to close at 34.795.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 3.17% to 11.285 in late trade, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which lost 2.21% to settle at 15.520 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 1.99% to 81.890 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 510 to 247 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.11% to 15.33.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.07% or 13.83 to $1311.73 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.34% or 1.60 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 0.64 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1975, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.9260.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.19.
