Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Software and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Basic Resources and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.16% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index fell 0.61%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which rose 3.06% or 0.288 points to trade at 9.688 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 2.73% or 0.530 points to end at 19.915 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 1.35% or 2.60 points to 195.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which lost 2.34% or 0.345 points to trade at 14.375 in late trade. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) declined 1.50% or 0.350 points to end at 23.015 and Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) shed 1.30% or 2.30 points to 175.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which rose 1.25% to 37.945, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was up 1.04% to settle at 44.12 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 1.02% to close at 51.35.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 8.20% to 20.660 in late trade, Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which lost 2.29% to settle at 3.66 and Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which was down 2.13% to 17.895 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which rose 6.34% to 6.441, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 3.11% to settle at 10.950 and Qiagen NV (DE:QGEN) which gained 1.68% to close at 29.685.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 5.73% to 19.915 in late trade, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which lost 3.14% to settle at 12.490 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.04% to 105.000 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 386 to 365 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.11% to 12.11.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.38 to $1285.28 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.75% or 0.37 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
