Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Retail and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.49% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.77% or 0.089 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 6.07% or 0.041 points to end at 0.716 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 4.71% or 0.2200 points to 4.9400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 6.38% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.132 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 5.26% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.2160 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 4.90% or 0.0700 points to 1.3600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 42 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.85% or 11.04 to $1290.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $51.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.48 to trade at $57.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1741, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 93.20.
