Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 3.10% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr), which rose 2.59% or 0.0350 points to trade at 1.3850 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 1.38% or 0.0800 points to end at 5.8600 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 0.71% or 0.100 points to 14.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 8.24% or 0.208 points to trade at 2.316 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 7.68% or 0.137 points to end at 1.648 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 7.51% or 0.058 points to 0.714.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 20 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.32% or 16.10 to $1202.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.43% or 0.29 to hit $67.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1410, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8934.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 96.15.
