Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.34%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were ACC Ltd (NS:ACC), which rose 3.53% or 56.10 points to trade at 1645.85 at the close. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) added 3.33% or 76.65 points to end at 2381.35 and Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) was up 2.66% or 6.95 points to 267.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN), which lost 2.59% or 30.00 points to trade at 1130.00 in late trade. Bosch Ltd (NS:BOSH) declined 2.04% or 430.10 points to end at 20682.45 and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. (NS:ARBN) shed 2.02% or 13.90 points to 675.80.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which rose 2.62% to 2367.85, Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which was up 2.32% to settle at 267.00 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which gained 2.11% to close at 7897.15.
The worst performers were Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN) which was down 2.73% to 1129.25 in late trade, Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which lost 1.48% to settle at 786.75 and Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was down 1.18% to 285.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 979 to 579 and 17 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1507 rose and 932 declined, while 151 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 4.98% to 13.1725.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1288.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.07% or 0.56 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.31 to trade at $57.88 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.02% to 65.522, while EUR/INR fell 0.04% to 77.1544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.11.
