Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.33%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI), which rose 6.93% or 24.20 points to trade at 367.05 at the close. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) added 3.61% or 37.60 points to end at 1080.60 and UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) was up 3.30% or 19.20 points to 603.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which lost 34.38% or 134.10 points to trade at 255.90 in late trade. Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) declined 14.36% or 7.00 points to end at 41.40 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) shed 6.13% or 90.80 points to 1383.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which rose 5.29% to 367.25, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which was up 3.76% to settle at 1080.50 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which gained 2.93% to close at 805.30.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 15.06% to 41.45 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which lost 6.84% to settle at 1381.60 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 3.68% to 270.90 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1183 to 419 and 55 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1638 fell and 745 advanced, while 144 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.50% to 15.8725.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.83% or 12.55 to $1493.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.09% or 0.61 to hit $55.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.62 to trade at $60.42 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.43% to 70.795, while EUR/INR rose 0.30% to 77.3400.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.868.
