Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 1.35% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were ANA Holdings Inc (T:9202), which rose 7.18% or 175.5 points to trade at 2619.5 at the close. Alps Electric Co., Ltd. (T:6770) added 6.77% or 105.0 points to end at 1655.0 and Konica Minolta, Inc. (T:4902) was up 5.88% or 19.0 points to 342.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which lost 3.35% or 200.0 points to trade at 5770.0 in late trade. Nichirei Corp. (T:2871) declined 2.38% or 69.0 points to end at 2826.0 and Olympus Corp. (T:7733) shed 1.72% or 37.0 points to 2111.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2449 to 1082 and 184 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 21.99.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.23% or 0.10 to $42.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.90 to trade at $1940.10 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.20% to 106.18, while EUR/JPY rose 0.46% to 125.49.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.155.
