Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 5.26% or 17.10 points to trade at 342.16 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.01% or 13.36 points to end at 456.71 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 2.35% or 3.90 points to 169.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 1.96% or 1.90 points to trade at 95.06 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 1.55% or 0.630 points to end at 40.000 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 1.20% or 0.370 points to 30.470.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 162 to 121 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.26% or 3.25 to $1254.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.43 to trade at $53.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.25% to 18.6731, while EUR/MXN fell 0.13% to 19.9224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 100.35.
