Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which rose 3.73% or 12.28 points to trade at 341.13 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 3.68% or 1.560 points to end at 43.970 and Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.92% or 0.920 points to 48.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.21% or 0.510 points to trade at 15.400 in late trade. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 2.62% or 0.42 points to end at 15.64 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 2.23% or 0.600 points to 26.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 144 to 118 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.72 to $1294.52 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $56.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.69% to 18.7049, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 22.1956.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 92.75.
