Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 4.69% or 4.05 points to trade at 90.48 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 2.91% or 1.990 points to end at 70.440 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 2.42% or 2.860 points to 121.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 1.71% or 0.530 points to trade at 30.540 in late trade. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) declined 1.30% or 0.420 points to end at 31.820 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) shed 0.69% or 0.49 points to 70.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 190 to 82 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.51% or 18.40 to $1200.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.27 to hit $67.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $72.79 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.11% to 19.1200, while EUR/MXN rose 1.07% to 21.8097.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 96.16.
