Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 2.85% or 0.570 points to trade at 20.580 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 1.03% or 0.200 points to end at 19.700 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) was up 0.95% or 0.700 points to 74.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 3.60% or 0.860 points to trade at 23.030 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 3.33% or 11.73 points to end at 341.00 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 2.18% or 0.33 points to 14.81.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 165 to 103 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.80 to $1283.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.17 to hit $52.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.34 to trade at $58.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.34% to 18.8537, while EUR/MXN rose 0.57% to 22.2350.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.27.
