Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 1.84% or 2.55 points to trade at 141.27 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 0.98% or 0.320 points to end at 32.950 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 0.81% or 0.72 points to 89.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which lost 3.91% or 14.97 points to trade at 367.51 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.14% or 1.470 points to end at 45.280 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) shed 3.12% or 6.33 points to 196.59.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 155 to 142 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.37% or 17.23 to $1239.77 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $47.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.13 to trade at $50.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.31% to 18.8272, while EUR/MXN fell 0.08% to 20.4956.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 99.21.
