Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 5.37% or 5.42 points to trade at 106.37 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 2.55% or 4.53 points to end at 181.99 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 2.42% or 3.02 points to 128.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 5.84% or 0.850 points to trade at 13.710 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 3.94% or 2.020 points to end at 49.190 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 3.20% or 1.600 points to 48.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 164 to 92 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.42% or 5.30 to $1242.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.74% or 1.44 to hit $51.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.97% or 1.21 to trade at $60.24 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.42% to 20.2296, while EUR/MXN fell 0.91% to 22.8664.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 97.463.
