Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 4.39% or 0.89 points to trade at 21.16 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 1.87% or 0.500 points to end at 27.180 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) was up 1.59% or 5.28 points to 337.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which lost 3.83% or 1.090 points to trade at 27.390 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.81% or 14.72 points to end at 510.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 2.58% or 1.470 points to 55.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 188 to 162 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 2.02% or 26.60 to $1291.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.22 to trade at $78.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.31% to 19.6848, while EUR/MXN fell 0.39% to 23.3143.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 93.10.
