Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which rose 3.52% or 1.80 points to trade at 52.10 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 2.61% or 0.60 points to end at 23.60 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 2.37% or 3.00 points to 130.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which lost 3.72% or 2.40 points to trade at 63.00 in late trade. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 2.65% or 1.30 points to end at 47.55 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) shed 2.53% or 0.300 points to 11.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 52 to 47 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 2.83% or 1.70 to $61.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.59% or 1.65 to hit $65.26 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.50 to trade at $1325.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.65% to 443.350, while USD/NGN fell 0.28% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 89.98.
