Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 9.92% or 0.98 points to trade at 10.86 at the close. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) added 5.00% or 47.77 points to end at 1003.27 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was up 1.30% or 0.30 points to 23.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which lost 4.05% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.710 in late trade. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) declined 3.76% or 0.050 points to end at 1.280 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) shed 3.18% or 0.190 points to 5.780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 41 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.20% or 0.59 to $49.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.79% or 0.92 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 9.60 to trade at $1269.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 2.52% to 359.710, while USD/NGN fell 10.26% to 314.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 93.22.
