Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 5.50% or 2.40 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 3.30% or 2.450 points to end at 76.700 and San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) was up 2.04% or 2.00 points to 100.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP), which lost 2.92% or 1.25 points to trade at 41.50 in late trade. First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) declined 2.36% or 0.46 points to end at 19.02 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) shed 2.01% or 3.10 points to 150.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 94 and 50 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.39 to $1271.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.30% or 0.15 to hit $50.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.09 to trade at $57.09 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.32% to 7.6948, while USD/PHP rose 0.34% to 51.195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.89.
