Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which rose 2.61% or 0.202 points to trade at 7.952 at the close. Enagas (MC:ENAG) added 2.31% or 0.540 points to end at 23.880 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) was up 2.06% or 0.133 points to 6.593 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 1.35% or 0.065 points to trade at 4.745 in late trade. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 1.13% or 0.083 points to end at 7.236 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) shed 1.08% or 0.245 points to 22.510.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 65 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 10.41 to $1285.31 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.75% or 0.37 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
