Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which rose 3.35% or 0.179 points to trade at 5.523 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 3.31% or 0.410 points to end at 12.780 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 3.15% or 0.089 points to 2.914 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which added 0.54% or 0.155 points to trade at 28.850 in late trade. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) added 0.57% or 0.039 points to end at 6.929 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) gained 0.65% or 0.125 points to 19.380.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 39 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.03% or 13.87 to $1337.33 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.45% or 0.69 to hit $48.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $53.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1962, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.9077.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 91.84.
