Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Robot (MC:RBT), which rose 9.24% or 0.55 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 1.20% or 0.315 points to end at 26.500 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 0.73% or 0.190 points to 26.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.53% or 0.096 points to trade at 3.702 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 2.02% or 0.188 points to end at 9.110 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) shed 1.78% or 0.225 points to 12.420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 73 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 6.80 to $1327.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.35% or 0.83 to hit $60.53 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.43 to trade at $64.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.2400, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 89.63.
