Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.68% or 0.585 points to trade at 22.390 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 1.99% or 0.134 points to end at 6.874 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 1.16% or 0.600 points to 52.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which lost 4.53% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.686 in late trade. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 4.43% or 0.188 points to end at 4.050 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) shed 3.33% or 0.136 points to 3.944.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 142 to 36 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.57 to $1278.23 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.17% or 1.12 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.69 to trade at $56.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1743, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 93.41.
