Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Plantations and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 17.71% or 6.20 points to end at 41.20 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which lost 23.00% or 299.00 points to trade at 1001.00 in late trade. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) declined 15.90% or 3.80 points to end at 20.10 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) shed 15.52% or 181.90 points to 990.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 77 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.16% or 0.79 to $69.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.66% or 1.21 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.15% to 209.435, while USD/LKR fell 0.25% to 159.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.24.
