Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 9.78% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.75 at the close. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) added 8.10% or 0.85 points to end at 11.35 and Sincere Navigation Corp (TW:2605) was up 7.98% or 1.30 points to 17.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sesoda Corp (TW:1708), which lost 9.96% or 2.70 points to trade at 24.40 in late trade. Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) declined 9.96% or 5.10 points to end at 46.10 and Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW:1235) shed 9.92% or 4.15 points to 37.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 492 to 330 and 92 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.66% or 0.49 to $74.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.57% or 0.48 to hit $84.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 4.50 to trade at $1193.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 30.965, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.53.
