Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Trading & Consumer Goods and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 9.89% or 1.35 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406) added 9.51% or 0.89 points to end at 10.25 and Promise Technology Inc (TW:3057) was up 8.99% or 0.85 points to 10.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which lost 10.00% or 9.90 points to trade at 89.10 in late trade. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 9.95% or 10.30 points to end at 93.20 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) shed 9.95% or 0.59 points to 5.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 581 to 236 and 99 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.24% or 0.16 to $67.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $77.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1201.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.16% to 30.788, while TWD/CNY rose 0.27% to 0.2233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.98.
