Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which rose 9.98% or 4.10 points to trade at 45.20 at the close. Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) added 9.96% or 1.40 points to end at 15.45 and China Ecotek Corp (TW:1535) was up 9.93% or 4.30 points to 47.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which lost 9.97% or 9.30 points to trade at 84.00 in late trade. CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) declined 6.10% or 0.90 points to end at 13.85 and Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) shed 5.70% or 2.60 points to 43.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 431 to 351 and 104 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.08% or 0.05 to $63.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $69.14 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 29.612, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2192.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 92.20.
