Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Auto and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935), which rose 10.00% or 2.90 points to trade at 31.90 at the close. HiTi Digital Inc (TW:3494) added 9.96% or 1.25 points to end at 13.80 and Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) was up 9.89% or 8.10 points to 90.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472), which lost 7.11% or 1.70 points to trade at 22.20 in late trade. Thunder Tiger Corp (TW:8033) declined 4.56% or 0.55 points to end at 11.50 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) shed 4.33% or 3.00 points to 66.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 449 to 306 and 118 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.44% or 0.23 to $51.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.73% or 0.42 to hit $57.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.71 to trade at $1283.09 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.36% to 30.408, while TWD/CNY rose 0.32% to 0.2197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.35.
